Patricia Rêgo; BA, Grad Dip AssessEval, MHealthSc
Patricia is experienced in quality assurance in the health sector and in the evaluation of medical education programs. She was involved in an action research project at the University of Queensland which aimed to recruit and retain junior doctors in non-metropolitan hospitals.
Patricia is an integral part of the curriculum development team for the MBBS program at The University of Queensland and is responsible for designing, co-ordinating, implementing and synthesising evaluations of various aspects of the program. She is also evaluation consultant to the Skills Development Centre.
Currently, Patricia is involved in research projects spanning the use of rural community attachments for medical students to encourage their retention in rural areas; the acquisition of clinical skills by medical students and the use of simulation in the education of medical and other healthcare workers. She is a PhD candidate in medical education, with a special interest in the acquisition of clinical skills.
